SEGA not currently considering AvP sequel

A follow-up to 2010’s Aliens vs. Predator isn’t currently in the pipeline, SEGA’s European CEO Mike Hayes has revealed.
Speaking with Eurogamer in light of yesterday’s unveiling of Creative Assembly’s new Alien project, Hayes said he believes there’s “a lot more” to explore in the franchise before considering a sequel.
“[AVP] was so successful that naturally you would think you want to do a sequel,” he said. “But we already had Aliens: Colonial Marines in the pipeline at Gearbox.”
“The Aliens universe is so interesting that there are different things that we can do before we go back to an idea of sequelisation,” added Hayes.
“There’s a lot more we can do first before we would consider doing a sequel on AVP.”
Aliens vs. Predator released for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 back in February last year, and was met with a luke warm reception from critics.
Despite this, the game proved a considerable success at retail, topping the UK All Format Charts upon release and supplanting BioShock 2 as the then fastest-selling game of 2010.

Good. there was only so much you could do with the game. I will say I enjoyed being predator, and the human campaign was quite scary...for a while. But to be completely honest there was no need for the alien campaign. what I\'d like would be a predator game where you could free roam in a city and get all the weapons in the film. perhaps switch between 1st and 3rd person and have it like predator two, where the predator seeks out gangs and the best cops and stuff as challenges. there was a game like that for PS2 and Xbox but I\'d like to see either a version for this generation, or the next one (itd be a lot better in the next gen obviously) but I reckon it could be good I will say I did like that ominus feeling in the first couple of levels where you come across a load of bodies from a shootout and there was nothing around or any music, and you just heard that deep laugh the predators make somewhere above you, so cool
