One name should make you sit up and take notice of Sega's new action brawler Anarchy Reigns: Bayonetta. Platinum Games' highly creative, fast-paced, stylish action game of 2010 was crammed full of magical moments, intense boss battles and explosive visuals.
Platinum Games is back in the driving seat for Anarchy Reigns which offers a different visual style, but has an unrelenting pace that appears to be quite similar to that of Bayonetta, and its combat seems to be just as hard-hitting. The unique aspect of Anarchy Reigns, however, is that it will feature a diverse range of multiplayer modes, which will take some of the gruessome combat - such as slicing an opponent in two with a chainsaw - into the competitive arena.
Check out this latest gameplay footage from E3 2011. We're on the show floor all week, so hopefully we'll get some hands-on time with Anarchy Reigns too.
Anarchy Reigns is due for release this Fall on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

I always like Platinum Games visuals and style... but the game feels kinda bland, I mean is it just me or does it feel like nothing more than Power Stone mixed with Eternal Champions? A wide arena free for all fighting game with gruesome bloody carnage? Is there some sort of narrative and progressive enemy staging system maybe? Is it objective/mission based? I'd hope there's a little more to it. It's hard to justify 60 bucks just for a fighting game anymore.
