Silent Hill: Downpour has been delayed into Q2 2012, Konami has confirmed.

The publisher told Beefjack that the horror romp, originally due out this winter for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, won’t see the light of day until next year.

The news comes after a number of retailers – Amazon Germany included - changed the release date for the Vatra-developed title on their website.

Silent Hill: Downpour focuses on prisoner Murphy Pendleton, who winds up traversing the foggy streets after his transport van crashes on the outskirts of town.

Although set in Silent Hill, the story will be largely unrelated to past entries in the venerable psychological horror franchise, with gamers able to explore all-new areas of the spooky town.
