PlayStation Move has shipped 8.3 million units globally, Sony has announced.
The figure was confirmed by Gabe Ahn, a developer support engineer for Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA), during the GDC Online event this week.
The last update on PS Move came in April, when Sony revealed the motion-sensing peripheral had shipped eight million units worldwide.
Of course, Sony is still keeping mum as to how many of those units have actually been sold to punters, as shipped merely refers to the number of units sold to retailers.
PlayStation Move originally launched in September 2010.

I don't think the PS move is selling like Sony was hoping. I wonder if thats one of the main reasons why Sony isn't saying jack about it, which is odd, because they like to gloat about their sales at times.
I have two of each myself since launch, but I only use them for certain games.

Honestly.......does a Wii with better graphics really appeal to the masses? Yes most of the Wii games sucked, but it appealed to the same people who enjoy shows like Whitney on NBC and other terrible things that most idiotic Americans enjoy.
Sony is 3 years too late and I am saddened by it because I bought a PS3 because of how much I enjoyed the PS2 and I feel severely let down.
Not aimed at anyone FYI.

so what're 8.3 million people playing? frisbee golf?
I have a move, I was kinda on the fence about it but I got it as a gift and figured id keep it around incase it was worth it someday. Well, it hasn't been worth it. the games for it are few and limited. It IS fun and it IS very accurate... except when it comes to using it in socom or killzone. I've wanted a gun for shooters for a while... and i have yet to get a gun accessory for the move, but using it for shooting games just by holding it sucks. There are a lot of adjustments to make it feel right and I still haven't found those adjustments. perhaps its amazing when its set up right... and if so, then more games should support it, but as I see it, its just a dust collector.
