Ridge Racer US release date announced, DLC included

The fellows down at PlayStation Blog announced the release date of March 13 for Ridge Racers, which is already available in both Europe and Japan.

Though this series usually has a game with every PlayStation launch, U.S. recipients are offered incentive for their patience, in the form of a DLC pack, titled "RIDGE RACER Gold Pass," which includes:

-Five additional machines: PROMESSA, ELENIE, DIGNISTAR, FATALITA and MELTFIRE

-Three additional courses: Old Central, Sunset Heights and Lost Ruins

-Two music tracks: NEW SONGS PACK 01

-One new extended music mix: LONG MIX BGM 01

The price point looks pretty attractive, sitting at $29.99 for a physical copy and $24.99 from the PSN; everyone who buys this game digitally has access to this free DLC as long as the game is purchased before April 30.

To make your patience even more rewarded, Sony also enhanced the overall experience, saying, "Fans worldwide should be happy to hear that upon the North American launch date, RIDGE RACER will be updated with an improved frame rate and crisper graphics for an even faster racing experience than ever before." A small reward, but removing any frustrations should make the wait forgettable.

The PlayStation counterpart Ridge Racer is almost in reach for the PS Vita. Get it March 13!
