Max Payne 3 makes its eagerly-anticipated debut next month, and to celebrate, Marvel Custom Solutions has teamed up with Rockstar to bring a three-part comic book series based on the action franchise to stores just in time for launch.
The comics aim to look at the events of Max Payne and Max Payne 2, and will offer more insight into the titular hero’s troubled past. They’ll be penned by Rockstar head honcho Dan Houser, as well as original developer Remedy’s Sam Lake.
After the Fall will be the first novel out the door, and will be available for free “in the next few weeks” via digital comic retailers, as well as both the official Max Payne 3 and Rockstar websites. A limited print run is also planned, though details on where those will be stocked have yet to be divulged.
Max Payne 3 is due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in mid-May, with a PC version arriving in early June.
