Activision has released a new Call of Duty Black Ops update for PS5 & PS4 users to download, which comes with a couple of key performance and quality-of-life improvements. Chiefly, the update reduces input latency for 120Hz displays or higher refresh rates, while the Zombies mode now prioritises hosts on PS5. You can read more details in the Call of Duty Black Ops update 1.005.000 patch notes below.

Call of Duty Black Ops was released for the PS5 & PS4 earlier this month alongside Call of Duty Black Ops 2. The games are pretty much barebones ports of the existing PS3 versions of the game, so don’t expect anything in terms of major visual enhancements or other extra features. Both games come with the full Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies game modes, and support Trophies.

Performance Improvements

  • Reduced input latency for displays that support 120Hz or higher refresh rates.

Zombies

  • Zombies now prioritises PlayStation 5 hosts.
  • Zombies matches no longer fall back to PlayStation 4 hosts.

Quality of Life

  • Added a Custom Emblem Editor setting.
    • Players can now enable or disable the visibility of other players’ custom emblems.
