XCOM: Enemy Unknown release date announced

2K Games has announced a North American release date of October 9 for XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
The strategy title, which launches on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360, arrives in Europe on October 12.
Early adopters will also be treated to some extra goodies for pre-ordering the game. Buy Enemy Unknown from participating retailers and you’ll bag the Elite Soldier Pack, which includes the Hyperion and Reaper soldier armour kits, colour customisation for your armour and a retro-inspired character from the original XCOM.

WHOO HOO!!! I'm psyched about this game!
I was a die-hard on the original XCOM game and then "Terror from the Deep". Like the recent Diablo 3 release that kept relatively true to the original ... the screenshots and videos for this look like they are doing the same (unlike the other XCOM FPS-looking game).
This will permanently ban this user and delete all associated comments. This action is irreversible, are you SURE you want to do this?!
