Assassin’s Creed III proved to be one of the major highlights of this year’s E3 convention, and if the recent footage of the game in action wasn’t enough to satisfy you, Sony has now confirmed the stabby sequel is up for pre-order on the PlayStation Store – with some meaty incentives to boot.

Grab the standard edition of the game, and you’ll receive the exclusive single-player mission A Dangerous Secret, which sees players battling against “a secret that could jeopardize the founding of the revolution.”

Those of you who pre-order the Assassin’s Creed III Gold Edition meanwhile will gain the above content in addition to a season pass for exclusive discounts on future DLC.

Pre-ordering exclusively from the PS Store will net you the following advantages:

-Pre-Order Offers: Many pre-orders come with exclusive discounts, offers or additional content at no extra charge.
-Auto-Download: Pre-orders will auto-download to your console in advance of the official release date: meaning there’s no waiting to play on release day.
-Pay Later: When you pre-order on PlayStation Store you don’t pay anything up front. We’ll charge your wallet a few days before the official release date, giving you plenty of time to save up for your next favourite game.

Assassin’s Creed III is scheduled for release on October 31, 2012.
