UPDATE:
Breaking news - PSN outage, password problems, account management inaccessible - security breached?
ORIGINAL ARTICLE:
Usually Sony lets everyone know when it’s going to shut down the PlayStation Network and PlayStation Store, but today it seems something unplanned has occurred.
We had just popped online to redeem our Dust 514 closed beta code to discover that we can’t log into the Network or the store. We receive the error message “An error has occurred (80710D23)”.
Let’s hope it’s nothing major and it’s all fixed soon. Sony is aware of the issue. Via its official Twitter account, it Tweets: “PSN and Stores are currently unavailable. We’ll let you know as soon as they’re back online.”
"Apologies for the current PSN issues. We are investigating and will restore the service as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience," it added.
We’ll keep you updated! In the meantime, if you hear anything at all, let us know in the community forums.
