The best and the worst PS4 concepts

Ever since the PlayStation 3 was announced, amateur designers, photoshop experts and professional graphic design companies alike have come up with concepts on what Sony’s next-generation console, the PlayStation 4, will look like.
We’ve gathered the best and the worst of those concepts for you to peruse over and judge. Do you think any of these designs will be even close to the real thing?

The toaster version is classic. I would buy the alien looking one if anything, all the rest are so unorriginal and lack anything to show off what the system could possibly do vs just how it would look...they should do a ps4 concept contest.

Some of those look really cool - some truly excellent designs there. I'm sure the finished product won't look half as nice as several of those. That one with the clear lucite panels is a bit beyond present technology. I'd be perfectly happy if they made it look like any other piece of A/V equipment - a black metal box with the top and bottom covered in vents. Very inexpensive and efficient when it comes to heat dissipation. The manufacturers of stereo receivers seem to have done quite well with that basic design for about half a century now. Never understood why video game consoles have to be fancy plastic boxes that don't allow for proper ventilation.

A couple of decent designs, but mostly awful, some even (perhaps intentionally) ridiculous. Like @4 said, one of them is a PSP2 (Vita) concept. And I'd like to point out that the red and black model is clearly an Xbox concept. The words 'Xbox 720' are easily visible imprinted on the left of the design, and upon looking closely, that's an Xbox logo in the centre.

I hate all fanmade console concepts..its the most pointless waste of time ever. I also hate when websites post random fanmade concepts as the thumbnail for news on the nextgen.

Would you guys please cite that the image you are using for the Playstation 4 comes from http://sonyps4.com --- it was sonytps4.com not .info that released those images.
There was a concept contest on Sonyps4.com and actually a few of these concepts are from there.

Everyone stop hating console systems arent trying to look fancy theyre just trying to look like consoles so they must be designed better then your average desktop. I for one like the picture that has the power button on top or unless you have it laid down then it be farthest right ,but i rather it be a playstation symbol illuminating and able to rotate it like the symbol on the ps2 disc tray. well that picture would be a badass design as for the other designs half of em are too farfetched.
