Metal Gear Solid 4 finally getting Trophy support

Konami’s critically-acclaimed Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will finally be getting Trophy support – four years after its initial release.
Creator Hideo Kojima confirmed the news himself during a chinwag with Famitsu magazine, where he revealed Trophies will ship out of the box in the upcoming ‘PlayStation 3 The Best’ edition of the stealth title.
However, those of you who already own the game will be able to download a patch to implement this feature. A launch date for the patch has yet to be determined, though we’ll keep you posted.
Elsewhere, Kojima-san confirmed that a special Metal Gear Solid 25th Anniversary event will be hosted on August 30 in Tokyo Midtown. The event will apparently play host to an announcement pertaining to Kojima-san’s vision of producing a game that connects people.

Yup, awesome news indeed mate. I didn't honestly expect this to happen since it's been four years; I remember Konami talking about it in 2009, but nothing ever came of it. Cheers, Kojima-san!

We could have used this BEFORE Metal Gear Online went away! Would have helped it hold on for a few more years maybe, who knows.
Anyway, I'm all over this.

This is great news! I bet its gonna be one hard platinum ! Only took 4 years! Seems like MGO was getting in the way coz as soon as they take the servers down here come this news. Still great to have trophys on prob the best PS3 game available!
