The Ultimate PS3 Games Showdown has officially kicked off! We've set out to decide the Best PS3 Game of All Time, but we need your help. Through a series of match-ups, we'll narrow the field until only the best of the best remain. All you need to do is click the link below and cast YOUR vote in our official poll!

RESISTANCE 2 VS. RESISTANCE 3

The Contenders:

Resistance 2

Insomniac’s second entry in the Resistance franchise was met with both acclaim and alarm. As a shooter, the game was very different from its predecessor in terms of mechanics and atmosphere. But it wasn’t all bad; in fact, some of it was downright awesome. With its one-of-a-kind “MMOFPS” co-op mode, expansive competitive multiplayer options, and globe-trotting campaign with no shortage of epic, there was enough content in Resistance 2 to warrant a spot on this list. It's not the game everybody wanted, but it certainly did Resistance fans justice.

Resistance 3

After its predecessor's mixed reception, Insomniac went back to the drawing board and ripped the franchise apart. When sewing it back together, the team included everything that made the first game so special, and more. The campaign can be, from moment to moment, thrilling, saddening, inspiring, and even scary. Resistance 3 is said to be the last console entry in the franchise, and we couldn’t have asked for a better send-off. All hail the weapon wheel, and may your Bullseye tags fly ever true.

Which of these two games deserves to move forward in our competition? Cast your votes in the official polling thread, and be sure to vote in all our match-ups to decide the Best PS3 Game Ever!
