Industry source claims next Call of Duty in development at Neversoft

Call of Duty: Black Ops II isn’t even out yet, but you just know Activision’s got another Call of Duty in the pipeline for next year. According to an industry source for Se7ensins, there’s some serious work on the title going on at famed Tony Hawk developer Neversoft.

According to Se7ensins, their source was able to spot a wealth of concept artwork, mission plans, and similar materials on desks and cubicle walls while touring the Neversoft offices. The information gleaned was apparently representative of another title in the Modern Warfare chronology, and the source had the following notes jotted down:

"It’s another MW game. There’s something called, ‘Drone Survaillance’. They’re working on ‘HALO’ jumps (High Altitude; Low X.) There is a level under ice. There is cloaking tech. Somethin called a ‘Dominator UAV’."

Sounds… familiar? In any case, it makes sense for Neversoft to be acting as development assistants on parent company Activision’s absolute biggest franchise, but could Neversoft have stepped up to fill the shoes of Infinity Ward as lead developers? If so, what is Infinity Ward working on?

We’ll have the answers before too long, so keep it tuned to PSU.com for more on all things of Call of Duty.
