Hunt for Bin Laden inspired DLC coming to Medal of Honor: Warfighter

A map pack for Medal of Honor: Warfighter will send players on a mission inspired by the decade-long real-life special forces mission to capture or kill Osama bin Laden. The content will run along with Zero Dark Thirty, a movie also based on the hunt for bin Laden. This is likely to cause some controversy but it should be noted EA's partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment will provide a $1 million minimum donation to benefit North American veterans' charities.

"Medal of Honor Warfighter is inspired by real world events, real operations, and real warriors," said EA's Peter Moore. "We've teamed up with Sony Pictures Entertainment to give back to the Special Operations community in honor of the sacrifices they and their families have made for their country and to connect people to the story of the greatest manhunt our world has seen."

The Hunt content for Warfighter comes with Limited Edition copies of Medal of Honor: Warfighter, or you can pick it up for $9.99 USD in North America on Dec. 17. To get the Limited Edition version make sure you pre-order a copy before Oct. 23. A European version will cost £7.99, according to CVG.

"Working with Project HONOR is a meaningful way for us to continue our support for combat veterans throughout the armed services," said Mark Boal, writer-producer of Zero Dark Thirty. "We are thrilled to be a part of this effort, and we're humbled that EA is stepping up to the plate with such a significant contribution."

For your purchase, you'll land two exclusive multiplayer maps. Darra Gun Market is set in a bazaar in Pakistan, which is the home to the largest illegal arms market in the world. Chitral is the second map and is set in an area north of Pakistan, an area governed by tribes.

For each map pack sold, EA will donate $1 USD towards participating nonprofits.

The game is slated for release on Oct. 23 in North America and Oct. 26 in Europe.

Super cool, since Medal of Honor always did portray some of the most realistic scenarios possible.
