Capcom’s lifted the lid on its post-launch content plans for upcoming zombie blaster Resident Evil 6.
The dramatic horror sequel will be supported by a slew of extra game modes and other goodies following its global launch on October 2, 2012. Unfortunately for PlayStation 3 and PC owners, the content will be released under a time-exclusivity deal with Microsoft for Xbox 360.
A total of three new game modes are in the pipeline, as detailed below:
Survivors Mode takes the classic solo- and team-based versus mode and adds a twist. Get killed and you respawn as an enemy character with the ability to attack the human characters. Take down two human characters to resurrect in human form. Last man or team standing wins.
In Predator Mode, one player takes on the role of the Ustanak, the fearsome B.O.W. that stalks Jake Muller throughout his campaign, and tries to eliminate the human players. The humans’ task: stop the deadly B.O.W. in its tracks, or at least survive until the end of the session.
Choosing the human side in Siege Mode will see players protecting a single NPC, while as a member of the enemy team, players will need to eliminate that same NPC. If the NPC is still alive at the end of the time period, the human team wins.
All three modes will support up to six players online and can be played using maps from the Mercenaries mini-game. Furthermore, gamers can utilize ResidentEvil.net to track and compare their progress with other players.
Capcom has promised more DLC in the form of new Mercenaries maps, as well as other as-yet unannounced items, so stay tuned for more details.

I can't wait to get me some Resident Evil action! Tomorrow in fact, from the PSN store...for €5 each (RE2 & 3!). Yeah, REAL Resident Evil, not this Resident Evil: Micheal Bay Edition lol. By the way, this DLC is already on the disc. :)

I'm happy as long as the DLC is unrelated to the SP story.
Still, it does leave a bad taste in your mouth hearing about DLC before the bloody game has even been released. -

Wow if they love MS so much maybe they can get them to pay the extra amount of money that I'M NOT PAYING FOR THEIR GARBAGE DLC. Sorry Crapcom, but if you even remotely wanted my money you shouldn't tell me I cant give it to you. As it stands I barely want your game to begin with all things considered. You're just giving mroe reason not to care.
