Sony: PS3, PS Vita cross functions rival Wii U tablet

Sony has welcomed comparisons between the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita’s cross controller functionality with that of Wii U tablet controller.
Speaking to Engadget, John Koller, vice president of marketing for Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA), said that both PS3 and PS Vita can easily provide a similar experience to that of Nintendo’s upcoming console.
“We tell our PlayStation fans all the time that what the Wii U is offering is something that Vita and PS3 can do quite easily,” he said.
Despite this, Koller insisted Sony isn’t about shoving the feature down consumers’ throats – it all depends on the content.
“It’s dependent on the content. So we need to make sure the content isn’t force fed,” said Koller. “And, to us, making sure that the gamer receives the right type of experience is what’s most important. So we’re gonna pick our spots, but that technology does certainly exist here.”
The executive went on to say that retailers enquire “all the time” about a PS3 and PS Vita bundle, but said Sony hasn’t set any plans in motion as of yet.
“In the meantime, you look at the Vita consumer and a very high percentage – almost all of them – own a PS3. So you see that crossover works,” added Koller.

soldier 95b are you trolling psu. You say a negative comment about everything sony. Ya its double the price because vita is a portable console duh. Also vita has alot better quality games then nintendo's baby's toy. You like nintendo go to a nintendo site. I can never understand why people who dont like sony come into these sites and spread there negative thinking. I hate xbox and nintendo but i dont go trolling there gaming sites trashing there games , systems or products. Do us a favor soldiers 95b go get a girlfriend or boyfriend and get a life pal! You troller!

They should do a 500GB PlayStation 3 Super Slim + Uncharted 3 + PlayStation Vita 3G + Uncharted: Golden Abyss for £450-500. That would be great value for money, and it's definitely a viable idea for a bundle.

haha I like "Sony isn’t about shoving the feature down consumers’ throats", so many games I've seen on WiiU just use the technology for no reason : Batman AC : pressing select to enter detective mode was easy enough, why would we need a tablet to superimpose on the big screen? Putting the controller on the ground for it to detect your movement : wasn't it easier to use the Wiimote and do a natural move (yeah the thing was not precise enough, but I doubt the detection here will be even remotely precise enough so we'll get a random result on screen as with 98% Wii games)
