Ubisoft is splashing out a whopping £4 million on marketing for Assassin’s Creed III in the U.K.
Unsurprisingly the figure is the most the publisher has spent on the franchise in its entire history, and rivals marketing efforts of the likes of FIFA and Call of Duty.
Senior brand manager Matt Benson told MCV: “Assassin’s Creed III is the culmination of three years’ hard work from the team which is at the top of its game.”
“Our spend is in excess of £4m across marketing and trade activity, which is the largest amount we have ever committed for an Assassin’s Creed campaign.”
The campaign itself kicks off next month and features TV placements targeting males aged 18-34, and will continue into November. It’ll also include online takeovers and billboards placed throughout the London Underground.
Assassin’s Creed III is due out in the U.K. on October 31 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game introduces an all-new assassin named Connor Kenway, who finds himself caught up in the on-going struggle between the assassin’s and the Templars during the American Revolution.
