Capcom working to fix PS3 Resident Evil 6 bugs

Capcom has confirmed it is looking into solving issues with PlayStation Network copies of Resident Evil 6, which has been rendered unplayable after downloading the game’s day-one patch.

While an update is being prepped to solve the problem, the publisher has revealed gamers can work around the issue temporarily by re-installing the horror sequel.

"The temporary fix to ensure people can enjoy Resident Evil 6 today as intended is to ask those people to uninstall the game (only if they originally saw an error message) and reinstall the game," a company mouthpiece told IGN. "This time they won't be prompted to download the patch and the game will load."

However, there’s a catch – you won’t be able to play online, and remains inaccessible.

"Please note, however, these people won't be able to play against disc owners on a temporary basis," said Capcom. "We are working with SCEE (Sony) to fix this issue and a patch is imminent to fix the issue."

Resident Evil 6 was released worldwide yesterday for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game sees Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy and newcomer Jake Muller embarking on a globe-trotting adventure to stop Neo Umbrella from unleashing the deadly C-Virus across the planet.

Despite mixed reviews, found the game to be a solid action-shooter despite some notable shortcomings. Check out our review here.
