Crystal Dynamics has officially unveiled the cover art for its upcoming reboot Tomb Raider.

In the light of the new direction for Tomb Raider, Crystal Dynamics has chosen a cover that shows the humanity of Lara Croft. So, even before opening the game case, players will know that it's defining itself outside of the set realm of what Tomb Raider used to be. For better or worse, the art direction looks phenomenal and it only lengthens the wait for its launch date, March 5, 2013.

Just....can't...get...excited. Idk. Just doesn't feel like Tomb Raider to me. Leave the series alone, take this new idea and craft another IP.

I disagree. I love this direction, and I had a lot of trouble taking the original content seriously at all. This could be because I didn't play them when I was young, but I've tried very recently, and I can't do it.

It seems to me to be jumping on the bandwagon of cinematic storytelling. Quicktime events and blended cutscenes. Don't get me wrong, that is all well a good, it just doesn't feel true to the classic Tomb Raider's. It feels like it has no soul. Or an identity of it's own.

I for one cannot wait for this game, it is a great revival of what was (sadly) a dying game franchise.

I agree with 2 and 4. I'm pretty excited for this game. Very dark and gritty, and if its done right, I don't mind the cinematics.

I don't mind reboots but this has the feel of almost being a survival horror game instead of an adventure game ...

I'm still interested but it doesn't feel like a "Tomb Raider" game ...

Tomb raider was a franchise going downhill, hopefully (thanks to uncharted) this TR will be better than tha piece of s1@t Tomb raider underworld was which I had to force myself to finish and didn't bother getting all trophys for! Tomb raider is the first game I brought on my first playstation, hope they put Lara in " All-stars battle royale"
