Capcom’s Q2 2012 financial results have revealed that Resident Evil 6 has proven successful “to some degree.”
The Japanese giant conceded in a Q&A on its investor website that reviews of the dramatic-horror sequel have been less than stellar outside of Japan. However, shipments have remained strong and the game continues to sell well in both territories.
"Overseas user reviews have not been very positive about Resident Evil 6,” Capcom said. “What is your strategy for strengthening the brands outside Japan?”
“Resident Evil 6 continues to generate repeat sales in Japan and overseas,” it replied. “Furthermore, initial shipments set a new record for a Capcom title. So this game has been successful to some degree.”
“We therefore believe it is too early to reach a conclusion about how users view this game. We always listen carefully to the feedback from users and use this information when developing games.”
Resident Evil 6 was originally forecast to ship seven million units; however, Capcom has now reduced this figure to six million.
“Our revision of the sales volume is based on a comprehensive decision that reflects a variety of factors and risks at this time,” said the company.
“We believe that prospects are good for reaching our goal of six million units. We are confident because of the approaching overseas Christmas and New Year selling season, past sales of titles in this series, and for other reasons.”
Resident Evil 6 was released on October 2, 2012 and proved to be one of the most critically polarizing titles in the series to date. Despite some negative reviews though, PSU.com enjoyed the title, as you can see from our review here.

Leon's campaign is the best thing about this game. Jake's campaign is also quite good (Sherry Birkn is a hot babe!) Chris's campaign was terrible. I'm not sure if i like the story split into three separate campaigns either. In my opinion, RE6 is a lot better than RE5 but not as good as RE4.

Im gonna wait and get it used. =) I played the demo, and thought it was pathedic. The voice acting is bad, and so were some of the sound FX. It didn't feel like RE at all, just another poor attempt.
