Rainbow Six: Patriot is still in development though there’s a chance it could be released for next-generation platforms, Ubisoft’s Yves Guillemot has revealed.
News comes following a chat with Polygon, where the executive teased that the gritty shooter will “surprise” the industry when it finally shows its face.
"The only thing I can say is that we have a good team working on it, and it's really looking good," said Guillemot. "So when it will come, it will surprise the industry."
He went on to say that there is a “good chance” the game will be released for Sony and Microsoft’s next-gen formats.
Ubisoft released a teaser trailer back in December last year, and in March it was announced that Jean-Sebastian Decant had taken over from David Sears as creative director on the project. Since then however, nothing has been revealed on the game.

I so hope they wait to release this on next-gen. The trailers look epic, but I know if they rush it, it will turn out to be like any other FPS (current-gen). I have no problem waiting Ubisoft. Take your time and be epic! But you really dropped the ball by dropping David Sears. You had the master and you let him get away.
