Report: FF Type-0 localisation plans scrapped...for now

JRPG fanatics Operation Suzaku have heard through the grape vine that Square Enix had planned on bringing Final Fantasy Type-0 to western markets a year or so back, though ultimately the idea was scrapped.
According to an anonymous source that contacted the site, Square was already well on its way to localising the project back in 2011, with English voice recording having took place not long after its Japanese release.
However, plans to localise the game were scrapped earlier this year; the project was apparently 90 per cent complete too. The decision was apparently down to dwindling PSP sales in the U.S. and Europe.
The source added that Square won’t commit to a release before sufficient fan demand, and plans for a possible PSN-only release were deemed impractical.
Released in Japan back in October 2011, Final Fantasy Type-0 was originally conceived as a mobile title before making the transition to PSP. The game was previously part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series that incorporates the narrative of Final Fantasy XIII, though is now considered a standalone entry.
