BioShock: Infinite’s planned multiplayer component was given the chop due to time constraints, creator Ken Levine has revealed.
It is widely known that developer Irrational Games has experimented with various multiplayer modes for the hotly-anticipated shooter. And while this aspsect was ultimately cut, Levine said that some of the ideas that were thrown around were “extraordinary.”
"We look at this way: we play around with a ton of things," he told IGN. "So much of it is experimental that you really have no idea.
"When you're making a game about Marines fighting the Taliban, you sort of a clear path to go with. In a game like this, where we start this thing and we're like 'okay, it's in a flying city in 1912 and you're this guy and there's this girl who can change the nature of reality,' you don't quite have a lot of guidelines to go with."
"We got to a point where we said 'okay, this is the you-know-what or get off the pot moment,' and we decided to get off the pot because it wasn't there yet," Levine added.
"But that makes it sound like I'm dissing on what the guys did. No. Actually, I think they did some really extraordinary stuff, but we felt we didn't have the resources and time to finish the experiment to the level we wanted to. And we weren't going to ship something that was not consistent with the overall package."
BioShock: Infinite recently suffered another delay, with the game pushed out of February 2013 and into March. The game will be released for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360, and we’ll be sure to bring you our definitive verdict come launch.
Stay tuned.

BioShock doesn't need M.P not every game requires MP and BioShock is one that needs to stay to its single player roots

No @1, suppose if I beat the single-player story on the game without a multiplayer mode, then where is fun for my rest in multiplayer through an online? I give 2 cents on the advice. :)

I agree with Nakatomi Uk. There doesn't need to be a multiplayer in Bioshock, it won't fit. It's like putting Multiplayer in Dishonored, cheesyness. Nobody like chessyness for multipayer it isn't right. So good suggestion to the game developers: "Don't, and I mean don't add multiplayer". Already I know it won't fit. It'll be worse then Homefront multiplayer or AC3 ( AC3 isn't so bad but it isn't good either.
Bioshock has a great story, the story's good enough for all of us bioshock gamers.
Sincerely, GC Thank You! Happy Hollidays

As Nakatomi and galactic_cowboy have said, Bioshock doesn't NEED MP. Commanderxp90, I think you are forgetting that if a game's single player doesn't entice you for multiple playthroughs (not just once through) then it musn't have been that great of a single player campaign
