A designer at Insomniac Games has leaked unfortunate news about SuperBot Entertainment, developers of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
The man in question is Mike Birkhead, and a tweet from his personal Twitter account indicates that around 20 SuperBot employees have been or will soon be laid off. In a statement to IGN, Sony confirmed the news, stating the following:
"SCEA can confirm that SuperBot Entertainment did make a reduction in their workforce today. The studio and SCEA remain committed to supporting PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale post launch, including developing the title’s forthcoming DLC releases in the coming months. The first character pack (including Kat from Gravity Rush and Emmett Graves from Starhawk) will be available for download on February 12 and will be free for the first two weeks. We’ll be sharing news of additional upcoming content soon.”
Hopefully, any SuperBot employee affected by this layoff will find another job soon. PSU will keep you informed as we hear more on this breaking news.

Wait... why were they laid off?

Probably the same reason as all the other layoffs : Sony's in a real pickle and it's cutting its expenses left and right, plus PSABR didn't sell all that well, a shame since it was such a great game. Sucks to lose a job, my condolences to all those that were laid off.
