Does a bear shit in the woods? Yes. Is the Pope a catholic? Yes. Will Activision release a Call Of Duty game this year? Yes. The answers to all those questions are pretty much set in stone, but it’s good to hear straight from the source that indeed a brand new Call Of Duty game will make an appearance at some point in 2013.

During a Q4 investor’s call, in which Activision confirmed that Black Ops 2 reached $1 billion in global sales within 15 days of its release, it revealed that a “Call Of Duty”game will launch in Q4 2013. No further details were revealed though the California-based powerhouse did say it also has plans to bring a free-to-play online version of Call Of Duty to China.

We’d expect this year’s shooter to spawn from the Modern Warfare series as we haven’t had an instalment since 2011, but we guess we’ll hear more at E3. You shouldn't have to search too far for that booth, just listen out for the racket of gun-fire and teenagers screaming with delight.

What do you think the new Call Of Duty game will be? Where do you think it will be set?

"...we haven’t had a [Modern Warfare] instalment since 2011"

Because 2 years is such a long time to go without a series that's been milked...

Although I loved the "teenagers screaming with delight" sentence.

what would make this game exciting would be if it was one of the first next-gen games.

So when Black Ops II was announced, I swore that I will not buy a Call of Duty game unless it was developed by Treyarch. However, I have a feeling this will be the first next-gen Call of Duty, and as a fan of the series... I don't think I'll be able to resist the first entry in the next-gen series. If it's not, then I'll pass, or if the PS4/Xbox version is just a graphics upgrade from the PlayStation 3 one.
