Critically-panned shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines has nabbed the top spot on the U.K. All Format Charts following its global release last Tuesday.

Developed by Gearbox Software, Colonial Marines was first announced way back in 2006, though despite its lengthy development time failed to impress reviewers. PSU.com awarded the game a scathing 3.5 in our own dissection last week.

Nonetheless, Colonial Marines has become the biggest release of 2013 so far, even beating out Dead Space 3.

The game’s launch pushes Dead Space 3 down to second place, followed by FIFA 13 at three and Call of Duty: Black Ops II at four. Rounding out the Top Five is Far Cry 3.

See below for the full Top 10.

1. Aliens: Colonial Marines
2. Dead Space 3
3. FIFA 13
4. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
5. Far Cry 3
6. Assassin’s Creed 3
7. Need for Speed: Most Wanted
8. Just Dance 4
9. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
10. Halo 4

It's not that horrible. Every game can't be COD or Uncharted, ya know. Aliens the movie itself never was Gone with the wind exactly! But, it could have been more polished. Otherwise I'd call it a solid 7.5 on a scale of 1 to 10
