PS4 won’t support your current PSN games

Shuhei Yoshida, head of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS), has confirmed that current PlayStation Network purchases and saves will not transfer over to PlayStation 4.

Speaking with Engadget, Yoshida-san explained that the reason these features will not make the transition to Sony’s next-generation console is due to the disparity between PS3 and PS4 architecture.

Sony announced PS4 last night during a PlayStation Meeting in New York City. See our handy hub for all the coverage.

PS4 will launch in holiday 2013. A price point has yet to be confirmed.
