A number of Ubisoft employees have listed Assassin’s Creed 4 on their LinkedIn profiles.
One of the employees, a tester with the publishing giant’s Annecy studio, listed the game for a 2013 release. And, while a launch window wasn’t mentioned, an audio artist with Ubisoft Montreal and a UI artist at Ubisoft Bucharest both listed AC4 on their CVs.
Unsurprisingly, the listings were quickly altered so the name Assassin’s Creed 4 was replaced with ‘unannounced project.’ However, VideoGamer.com was able to nab a screenshot prior to these edits.
Ubisoft announced earlier this month that the next entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise would be released in FY14 – that’s any time between April 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014.
Given the annual release schedule the series has seen in recent years however, it’s probably a safe bet to assume we’ll see the new game out before the end of the year.
PSU.com would like to see the series set in London next, which we’ve explained in detail here.
