God of War: Ascension review round-up

March 15 sees the hotly-anticipated launch of God of War: Ascension, the latest entry in Sony Santa Monica’s bloody hack-‘n-slash series which began back in 2005 on PlayStation 2. Once again, chrome dome Kratos is the star of the show, though this time the action takes the form of a prequel set a decade before the events of the original game. As such, players can expect to experience a more human side to our perpetually-pissed off Spartan.
With multiplayer, a new set of moves and hulking bosses, God of War: Ascension is certainly the most ambitious entry in the franchise to date – but is it actually any good? We’ve rounded up a varied bunch of review scores below, so have at it.

I was hoping for a little better score on the reviews, but I don't think anyone was expecting this to be better than God Of War III.

@1 I tend to agree there. How could they top scaling mount Olympus to do battle with Zeus, Hades and Poseidon? The sheer scale of GOW3 was like nothing seen before... last time I was in such awe was Shadow of the Colossus...
