Scrooge voice actor and cast return for DuckTales Remastered

Capcom has confirmed that Alan Young, the 94-year-old voice actor behind Scrooge McDuck, will return for the upcoming DuckTales Remastered.

Young will be joined by the rest of the core cast from the classic Disney cartoon series to lend their voices to the upcoming remake of the NES platform title.

Capcom’s Christian Svensson took to the company’s official forums to confirm the news: “Scrooge’s voice actor is now 94 years old but he still came into the studio and did his thing like a pro. The voice work really adds a lot to the package.”

DuckTales Remastered has been in development for over two years, said Svensson, and came about as a result of fan demand.

The game will be released for PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE and Wii U in mid-2013. Originally released on the NES, DuckTales features Scrooge, aka The Richest Duck in the World, and his nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie on a globe-trotting treasure hunt taking them everywhere from Africa to Transylvania.

DuckTales is highly revered among gamers for its challenging and non-linear gameplay, and is regarded as a quintessential example of 90s gaming nostalgia.

Stay tuned for more information as we get it.
