UPDATE: Further information regarding the update delay has hit the official PlayStation forums. Digital Platforms Community Manager Morgan Haro further detailed the issues behind the hindered PlayStation Store update:
"We can confirm that today’s PS Store publish will be delayed due to ongoing scheduled PSN maintenance. The extended PSN maintenance duration is due to intermittent authentication errors experienced during the routine maintenance. We are working quickly to minimize the inconvenience to our customers and will continue to provide updates to the PlayStation community via @PlayStation."
Once the PS Store update publishes, we will have it available to award your patience.
ORIGINAL: Sony announced tonight via Twitter the reason why the North American PlayStation Store update has not been published.
The last few weeks have yielded store updates right around 5:30 Eastern Time, but this week is grossly delayed. Sony had this to say:
"Today’s PS Store publish will be delayed due to ongoing PSN maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience – stay tuned for updates"
As Sony releases more details on the PS Store or the maintenance taking place on the network, we’ll be here to report on them.
