GRAN TURISMO 5 VS. LITTLEBIGPLANET 2
The Contenders:
Gran Turismo 5
Polyphony Digital’s simulation racing opus was a long, looooong time coming, but it arrived in high style with critical acclaim to boot. We won’t pretend that Gran Turismo 5 was perfect; a clunky online interface and framerate issues were dark spots on an otherwise pretty package. And boy, was it pretty. Never before have 1,000 cars careened down the track reflecting sunlight in such dazzling splendor. The simulation is pitch-perfect, the playable modes are many, and online support has been terrific every week since release. Gran Turismo 5 is everything that a GT fan could want; we challenge you to find a better simulation racing experience.
LittleBigPlanet 2
Sackboy’s first outing was an incredible debut on PS3, but LittleBigPlanet 2 was a bigger and better creative powerhouse. Media Molecule gave fans the tools to create, and create they did. Entire games have been constructed using assets both included and original, and LittleBigPlanet 2’s network now boasts millions of levels and content pieces. It certainly helps that Media Molecule brought creativity of their own – the story and level design of LBP 2 were huge steps up from its predecessor. For frantic co-op fun, for irresistible charm, and for the builder in all of us, there’s simply nothing better on PS3.
Which of these two games deserves to move ever closer to the crown? Cast your votes in the official polling thread, and be sure to vote in all our match-ups to decide the Best PS3 Game Ever!
