E3 2015 Awards: Best Vita Game

E3 2015 is over for another year, and what a show it’s been. As we pack our bags and head back home we’re left with a tough decision: which games deserve our coveted awards this year?

Winner: Mighty No 9

It was a rather quiet show for Vita at this year’s E3, so it was great to see some developers still championing Sony’s handheld, none more so than Abstraction Games who worked alongside Comcept in bringing the PS4 action-platform game Mighty No 9 to the small screen.

As the spirtual successor to the brilliant Mega Man, Mighty No 9 has a lot to live up to but early indications from our hands-on time with the game suggests that fans are certainly not going to be dissapointed. Vibrant, energetic and challenging, gameplay captures that old-school Mega Man spirit with slick level design, retro sounds and addictive fast-paced action. It’s the kind of game you just can’t put down, and perfect for the pick-up-and-play appeal of Vita. This is 2D platforming at it’s finest with 3D animations and artwork that add a fun and vibrant kick to the addictive pursuit of blasting through stages blowing stuff up.

Honourable Mention: Persona 4 Dancing All Night
