PS3 Battlefield 3 owners: how to claim your copy of Battlefield 1943

Electronic Arts has confirmed that PlayStation 3 owners in Europe will be able to claim their free download code for Battlefield 1943 this weekend.

The publisher previously confirmed at E3 that it would be offering a free copy of the World War II-based actioner with every new copy of Battlefield 3 for PS3. However, come launch, this failed to materialise.

Despite this, the publishing giant has now revealed that PAL gamers can claim their code on November 26, with the U.S. and Japan following on December 10 and December 17, respectively.

EA insists “there have been some misunderstandings” about the deal on its website. As to how you can claim your BF 1943 code, see below.

-Activate your Battlefield 3 Online Pass for the PlayStation 3 using the voucher included in the game (see step #5 for additional instructions).

-Visit on or after the dates outlined above for your region and log in with your Origin ID and password. Click here if you need help with retrieving your account information.

-Select your territory. Note vouchers do not work across regions.
-You will then receive a PlayStation 3 voucher for Battlefield 1943.

-input your voucher into the PlayStation Network store. Instructions below.
-From the XMB (cross media-bar) of the PlayStation 3 connected to a network, choose [account management] under the [PlayStation Network].

-From the menu select redeem codes.

-Enter voucher and select continue.

-Download Battlefield 1943.
