Bethesda teases big announcements for 2013

Gamers can expect some major announcements from Bethesda Softworks this year, the company’s vice president has said.

Speaking with OXM, Pete Hines said that gamers will want to sit up and take notice of what the company has up its sleeves for 2013.

"I think you’ll hear us making considerably more noise this year than we did last year, as a publisher," he said.

"Obviously the Elder Scrolls Online is out and we’ve got the Dishonored DLC, but we will be announcing new stuff and making some noise, and I think when we get the chance to show you guys what we’re up to, that you’ll sit up and take notice."

So, just what could Bethesda have in the pipeline? Well, for starters a new Fallout game seems like a distinct possibility, as it has been a while since Fallout 3 dropped. Not only that, but a job listing confirmed the studio is working on a new game for next-generation systems — a new IP perhaps?

Finally, we have Doom 4, which has undergone something of an overhaul in the past 18 months or so. However, from the sound of things the horror-shooter is still a long way off, so we can probably rule out any potential reveals as far as that goes.

Stay tuned.
