Final Fantasy 13-2 getting Japanese re-release in two new editions

Square Enix has announced two new editions of Final Fantasy XIII-2 for release in Japan this summer.

Due out on July 18, the first of the re-releases is known as the Digital Contents Edition, and will retail for 5,040 yen.

As expected, it includes a wealth of DLC, which is detailed below.

Finally, the Ultimate Hits edition will feature its own DLC too, albeit on a much smaller scale. This is reflected in the price, as the bundle costs just 2,940 yen. You can also pick it up two days earlier via PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE for the same price.

Gamers who already purchased FFXIII-2 on disc but wish to acquire all DLC can upgrade to the ‘Additional Content Selection’ via PSN and XBL, for 2,100 yen and 1,360 Microsoft Points, respectively.

The final instalment in the Final Fantasy XIII story, Lightning Returns, will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 later this year.
