Sony has confirmed that DriveClub, the upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive racer from Evolution Studios, will be playable at next week’s E3 convention in Los Angeles.
News comes following a post on Twitter, where both teams revealed that attendees will be able to go hands-on with the racer, first announced back in February at Sony’s New York City PS4 reveal event.
Evolution Studios is of course best known for its work on the PS3 off-road racing series MotorStorm, which seemingly wrapped with 2011’s MotorStorm Apocalypse. Despite this, the company has hinted it may return to the series at some point in the future.
DriveClub offers a more traditional racing experience compared to MotorStorm, though it isn’t to be lumped into the same category as Gran Turismo – it’s not a simulator, after all. Players can expect a team-oriented experienced, facilitated by the PS4’s much-publicised ‘Share’ button allowing you to manage teams with fellow gamers.
DriveClub has yet to attract a formal release date.
