War Thunder developer Gaijin Entertainment has confirmed that the PlayStation 4 version of its World War II combat sim will included PlayStation Eye support.
“We’re using PlayStation Eye camera for the head-tracking, so the player can look around his aircraft without using the gamepad. And of course users will be able to use Share functions such as screen capture or even live streaming,” said Gaijin mouthpiece, Alexander Trifonov, during a chat with GamingBolt.
Trifonov also heaped praise on the power of Sony’s next-generation console, enabling the studio to implement complex battle damage and aerodynamics among other effects.
“PS4 is a very powerful gaming machine thanks to its closed architecture, and every day our dev team is getting better with it. This includes aerodynamics, physics, damage model and many other complex calculations. Thanks to our game being online, we can continuously improve the optimization of our engine to achieve maximum performance.”
War Thunder is due out alongside the PS4 at launch in the U.S. on November 15 and in Europe on November 29.
