Atlus PR Manager, John Hardin, detailed a new free patch for Dragon’s Crown on the PlayStation Blog that adds a new “Ultimate” difficulty which includes a randomly generated dungeon.
Developer Vanillaware wasn’t content with just adding cross-play, improving game balance, and tweaking the game for a better experience in previous updates. They are spreading some holiday cheer by raising the level cap from 99 to 255 to compensate for the new difficulty and new dungeon known as the Tower of Mirages, which is unlockable after clearing the ninth layer of the Labyrinth of Chaos.
Hardin didn’t mince words in describing the new dungeon. “It’s randomly generated and it has tens of thousands of levels. TENS. OF. THOUSANDS. I say this with all sincerity, since I know some of you are going to try to KO it: Good luck,” he said.
Atlus is attempting to lure veteran gamers back with Dragon’s Crown’s fifth patch as additional changes to the story mode and save files encourage creating new characters.
The patch is for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions of the game and available now.
