Shawn Layden, CEO and President of Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA), has confirmed that PlayStation 4 YouTube support will arrive later this year.
Speaking at the format holder’s E3 press conference today, Layden, who succeeded Jack Tretton as SCEA boss earlier this year, also revealed a few stats for PlayStation Network.
For starters, 95 per cent of PS4 owners are connected to PSN, while the service has logged over one billion matches to date.
PS4’s Share button has been pressed 220 million times, while 1.25 billion hours have been logged on Sony’s flagship online service.
Layden also confirmed that spectator support for Twitch will be added, allowing gamers to influence the on-screen action. For example, if you’ve played a game that is being streamed, you can warn the player of impending danger — or proceed to screw it up, if you wish.
