Destiny gamers have notched up 2 billion hours to date

Speaking during its latest financial report, Activision Blizzard confirmed that Destiny players have notched up an impressive two billion hours since the shared-world shooter’s launch in September 2014.

In addition, Destiny has amassed 20 million registered players worldwide, with the average user spending around 100 hours on the game to date.

The publishing giant added that Destiny’s House of Wolves expansion has a high attach rate, with activity notably increasing since its launch back in May.

Developer Bungie revealed this week via Game Informer that Peter Dinklage will be replaced by Nolan North as Ghost for the forthcoming expansion, The Taken King. The new content drop will also do away with Light armor in favour of a traditional experience-based levelling system.

The Taken King ships in September for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. You can now pre-order the limited edition PS4 bundle (seen above).
