Assassin’s Creed Syndicate review round-up

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate sneaks into stores worldwide tomorrow for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, with this latest entry in the multi-million selling stab-’em-up franchise taking place in the much-requested Victorian London setting.

Yep, you’ll be uttering ‘morning, ‘guv’ all the way to the bank and back before long as you take in the sights of 1868, which include but not limited to Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral, and London Bridge. If that wasn’t enough, Syndicate also introduces two playable characters, namely twins Evie and Jacob Frye, as the pair battle unscrupulous gutter trash and Templars for control of the cobbled streets. As is the case with every new Creed adventure, gamers also have access to brand new weapons and equipment, and before long you’ll be zip-lining your way to the top of rooftops and getting into brutal fist-fights with the game’s improved combat system.

Of course, we can’t help but be reminded of last year’s Assassin’s Creed Unity as we approach launch day, which sadly turned out to be a buggy mess until Ubisoft later released a patch to remedy the problems. Has Syndicate suffered the same problems as its predecessor in this respect? Or is the action relatively bug-free? The critics have spoken, so let’s find out what thought. Be sure to read our initial impressions of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and stay tuned for our full review next week.
