Sony has denied reports that PlayStation VR is scheduled for release in fall 2016.
The company’s response came in light of claims from Paul Raines, the CEO of GameStop, who during an interview with FOX News said that Sony’s virtual reality gaming headset is targeting a fall launch window.
Game Informer contacted Sony to get to the bottom of these claims, to which the format holder said, "GameStop was speculating, and we have not released any further details on launch timing.”
Sony has only said that PlayStation VR will launch in the first half of 2016, and has not announced a price for the device as of yet. However, it has said the headset will be positioned at a similar cost to a new games console.
PS VR will be compatible with a number of upcoming titles, including Ace Combat 7, Dreams, Gran Turismo Sport, and Tekken 7.
