Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain star Stefaine Joosten has ignited rumors that she’s set to feature in Hideo Kojima’s upcoming PS4-exclusive action game, Death Stranding.

The actress, who provided the voice and likeness for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s sultry sniper, Quiet, was quizzed on her possible involvement in Kojima-san’s new title while attending Dutch Comic Con 2017 over the weekend. Joosten was there to promote REKINDLE, a sci-fi movie that is currently gathering pace on Kickstarter.

Asked if she’s going to work with the Metal Gear creator again, Joosten smiled and replied, “I can’t say anything about that, unfortunately.” Rumors about Joosten’s potential involvement in the game have largely been attributed to the fact she visited Guerrilla Games last year (the Amsterdam-based studio is powering Death Stranding with its new game engine), plus the fact Kojima was spotted wearing a Stefanie Joosten cap on his recent podcast.

Death Stranding has already attracted something of a stellar cast despite being a few years away, with Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkleson, and Guillermo Del Toro all signed on for the project. Joosten’s involvement would certainly make a lot of sense, seeing as how she worked extensively with Kojima in The Phantom Pain, which also happened to be the developer’s final game with Konami.

While nothing official has been confirmed as of yet, it’s worth noting that Joosten would presumably not be under any contractual obligation to keep mum on the topic if she wasn’t involved in the game. The fact she refused to confirm or deny her involvement suggests otherwise.

Death Stranding was announced during Sony’s E3 2016 press conference by Kojima himself on stage. Not much is known about the title at present, though Kojima Productions has revealed that it will feature open-world and online elements. Kojima has played down the inclusion of multiple game endings, and has confirmed the Death Stranding release date will land before 2019.
