Activision and Treyarch have confirmed that the highly anticipated FPS Call of Duty: World at War will be released across North America on November 11, 2008.
Call of Duty: World at War returns to the familiar World War II setting depicted in the first three titles of the critically acclaimed FPS series, with the game set predominantly in the Pacific theatre and Eastern front of the conflict.
From what we’ve seen the game appears to be shaping up rather nicely, though it remains to be seen whether or not it has the stones to top Infinity Ward’s decidedly brilliant Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

does this have trophy support?
Its gonna be very up hill for Treyarch to top Call of Duty 4. It would be shamefull for them that a game already 1 year released, would be superior to their new product.
@1 yes, it has trophy support.
@2 lol, many still say 3 is better than 4...
FOR REAL!!!! i thought this thing was announced months ago. i thought it would come out some time next year!!! argh so soon......(i wish i kept an eye on this game when it was announced) oh well....i'll need to check how many coins my piggy is holding :)
psn id: gingo....i'm still undecided whether i will get this or not, with so many other great ames coming out i dont know if this is even worth spending money on
Weel thatsettles it. I'm only going to buy Resistance 2 and not this.
I really doubt that this is going to be better than 4, but i could be wrong. Im still thinking if i should get this.
lol @3 Who are these people, and are they blind ?.
Heh. I'm not sure how I'll handle all these great games, I can't afford them all. I need to do some planning lol. I want CoD5, but I want a lot of other games aswell heh
It's highly anticipated? really?
Did we ever have such a crowded fall?So much variety for us ps loyalists.YAY!
Its hard to compare WWII games with modern/sci-fi ones. but I heard that 5 kicks butt and we will dig the flame throwers.
wow...another nazi killer to add to the already-too-massive pile...
seriously, if it's not set in the middle east or in space, it's a nazi killer.
Do you guys really want another one?
I prefer WWII shooters, this game will be class.
Yep same with me i'm going to have to stay with R2, although i'm definitely gonna consider gettng the game
I think call of duty 4 success had to do with the online and where the game took place but now 5 is going back to WWII and i dont know about you guys but Im sick of WWII games.
i agree with 18 even though i don't have any WWII games, they're just boring and old. But i love 4 so i might want this and it would be one of the best shooters around anyway if i wanted a good game, but there are a lot of other good games coming out soooooooooooo
This could be better than cod3 but I doubt it will get the same hype that cod4 got. I really don't think I'll buy it because there will be far better fps games to buy, like far cry 2 and resistance 2!
I'm getting it. It looks really good.
Some people seems to be confused....I couldn't careless if this game is game of the year...I just don't do WWII shooters. Thats why the only COD i've ever bought was COD4...not becuse its the best COD (thats a bonus), but because it was a modern day shooter. So I am gonna have to go ahead and say no to this......yeah...NO!
i am pretty sure this one will follow the foot steps of CoD4 which was a huge success
I wont be buying.. i will have Resistance 2 in my hands, so i will be busy
EU release date?
