No European Video Store this year

Whilst Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is working on getting "local" content, it won’t be ready in the near future. Presumably that means sometime in 2009, but if past ventures are anything to go by (PlayTV, PSP GPS etc) then we may not see anything till…2010??

"Sir Howard Stringer has made the commitment that [it] will come to all regions in due course and it will," according to SCEE President, David Reeves. "For us…local content is key and that is exactly what we’re working on right now."

The US Video Store lets you purchase or rent downloadable movies and TV shows, which are also playable on your PSP.

Fortunately the Go!View service was launched earlier this week for those of you who want to watch video content on the movie. For £5-10 per month, you can get a variety of entertainment, comedy and sports content for the PSP which you can view as many times as you like as long as you continue to pay the subscription.
