Capcom to announce RE5 demo soon, says Takeuchi

Capcom’s Jun Takeuchi has said that the publisher will be making an announcement in regards to a playable demo of Resident Evil 5 “relatively soon.”

Speaking with Eurogamer, the Resident Evil 5 producer commented, "We’ll be making an announcement about that relatively soon," further adding that the inclusion of downloadable content is “possible.”

Elsewhere, Takeuchi also hinted that a mandatory hard drive install might not be required, commenting, "We’re still working on those technical elements in the last couple of months, but we can tell you that if users are dissatisfied with that kind of thing, then it’s certainly something we keep in mind when we develop.”

“We’ll do our best to come up with something that users will not criticise, but love…" he added.

Resident Evil 5 sees hulky-armed Chris Redfield teaming up with newcomer Sheva Alomar in an effort to neutralize the latest bio-terrorism threat in a remote sun-baked African village.

The survival horror title is scheduled for release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on March 13, 2009.
