EA announced that the cover of Madden NFL 12 will be chosen by the fans through an elimination bracket representing a candidate from all 32 teams. You can cast your votes here from March 21 to April 26. The Madden NFL 12 cover athlete champion will be announced on April 27 live on SportsNation via ESPN2.
Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers may take the mass vote, however, it’s a bit upsetting to see some of the names chosen for the list. I don’t see what was wrong with EA selecting cover athletes themselves in past years. Leaving the monopoly NFL football franchise up to internet votes could get Rick Roll’d and EA will get stuck putting someone like Tim Tebow or Carlos Dunlap (no offense to fans of those teams) on the cover.
I’m from Washington, and to see them not even put a Seattle Seahawk player name on the list is an insult. Why not put our rookie Earl Thomas or even the coach Pete Carol on the list? If EA is going to leave votes up to the fans, I say all football fans should vote for The 12th Man.
