The long-rumored multiplayer component for Mass Effect 3 has been confirmed via the latest issue of Aussie publication PC Powerplay.
"That’s right – Mass Effect 3 is getting multiplayer!" the magazine reads. "We travel to BioWare’s office in Edmonton for hands-on time with the series’ first foray into online gameplay, and chat with Mass Effect Series Producer and Mass Effect 3 Project Director Casey Hudson about the decision to go multiplayer in the epic battle for the galaxy."
Meanwhile, the cover of the November issue reads: "Fight alongside your friends as the galaxy goes to war!"
The multiplayer mode for BioWare’s sci-fi blockbuster was all but outed last week when a South African retailer revealed the game will feature an “online multiplayer pass.”
Eurogamer has heard whispers that Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer will take the form of a standalone, online co-op mode that features competitive elements.
